2006Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter enters orbitNASA probe begins mapping MarsNASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter successfully entered orbit around Mars after a seven-month journey. It carried the highest-resolution camera yet sent to another planet. The spacecraft went on to scout landing sites and study the Martian surface for years.
