• 2005 Hurricane Wilma Most intense Atlantic hurricane on record at the time Hurricane Wilma reached the lowest pressure ever recorded in an Atlantic hurricane before striking the Yucatan Peninsula and South Florida in October 2005. It formed on 15 October and dissipated by 25 October, causing extensive damage and capping a record-breaking hurricane season. Wilma was the twenty-first named storm of the 2005 Atlantic season.
