1871Stanley locates David LivingstoneJournalist finds the missing explorer at UjijiHenry Morton Stanley, sent by the New York Herald to find the missing Scottish explorer David Livingstone, located him at Ujiji on the shore of Lake Tanganyika. Stanley reportedly greeted him with the now-famous words, 'Dr. Livingstone, I presume?' The meeting became one of the most famous episodes of European exploration in Africa.
